This Sahitya Akademi Award winning novel was ahead of its times in exploring the nuances of women's liberation, especially within the Indian marital structure.


Fatfatiyun by Suman Shah

In this collection of short stories, Shah depicts the complexity of human lives in his characteristic style: he touches upon a variety of themes and social issues, from earthquakes to riots, but his tone always remains light. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award for it.

One of the many humorous collections written by Tripathi.


Mahotu by Raam Mori

R R Sheth (2018 edition)

This is an anthology of his short stories. Mori is known for depicting the rural life of Saurashtra, apart from the violence faced by women and other such dark elements of our society.
