Considered one of the author's best works, this stream of conscious novel is also regarded as the first psychological novel in Telugu literature.


Barrister Parvateesam by Mokkapati Narasimha Sastry

J K Publishers (2017 edition)

This is a humorous novel that pokes fun at postcolonialism. It follows Parvateesam who leaves Andhra Pradesh in hopes of becoming a barrister and narrates all his adventures abroad.


Chivaraku Migiledi by Sivaraju Venkata Subbarao

Visalandhra Publishing House (2012 edition)

Subbarao, who is more popularly known by his pen-name Butchi Babu, centres this psychological novel around Dayanidhi, a doctor with a fixation on her mother's and the difficulties he experiences after her death.


Ganapathi by Chilakamarthi Lakshmi Narasimham

Vishalandhra (2013 edition)

One of the first novels of modern Telegu literature, it criticizes kanyasulkam, which is the practice of the payment by the groom to the bride's father, and highlights the acute poverty in Brahmin families.
